Victor B. Villamera, Jr.
Victor B. Villamera, Jr. fondly called as Inting Butikol finished his Bachelor of Arts degree major in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City in 1982.
Victor (Inting) together with his family has been a resident in British Columbia since 2004.
His 15 years worked experienced in the Philippines was in Community Project Development and Management employing the Participatory Method in evaluation, analysis and planning. Attached to these experiences was his exposure to the complex system and organization of pro-people organization and communities.
In this 15 years, the 1st 4 years was in the private sector (4 years as a community social project analyst in an independ-ent consultancy group, 2 years as Senior Assistant for Mindanao and three years as Senior Executive Assistant to the City Mayor in one of Mindanao’s major city. And, the last few years was an independent consultant to both the commu-nity based businesses and the government sector on project development and management.
In Canada, I was exposed and immersed in the different facet of manual labor – as a building caretaker, cleaner, ware-house associate, construction skilled labour and got a diploma from VCC on Accounting and Payroll Administration.
My Exposure to Arts:
Music:
In my early years (Grade 2 – Grade 5) my parents forced me to study piano lessons. This lasted for only 3 years. I quit my formal piano lessons and do my own piano lessons using chords. Until now, I still play the piano and have been a Musical Director to different Filipino Organizations, i.e., Couples for Christ and the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals.
Visual Arts:
My exposure to visual arts was, when I was in 2nd year high school where-in our practical arts subject was on visual arts. But, my 1st and last serious painting was in 2003. And, I re-focus my arts interest into charcoal drawings last 2020(during the CoVid Pandemic). I did some Charcoal Drawing of some my friends, i.e., Zeny Villamera (my wife) which was my 1st model, MP Peter Julian, MP Jagmeet Singh, Mayor Mike Hurley, MLA Katrina Chen, MLA Anne Kang, Burnaby Councillor James Wang and some close friends.
